Mr. Paul Mac Donald |

Mr. Mac Donald was born in Detroit, Michigan in 1952. He graduated from Catholic Central High School in 1970 and attended King’s College in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. He entered the Automobile business at his Grandfather’s Chevrolet Dealership in Detroit, Michigan in 1972. He left his family store to purchase his own Chevrolet Dealership in Hays, Kansas in 1981. Mr. Mac Donald has held Volkswagen, Porsche, Audi, Mazda and Chevrolet franchises. Mr. Mac Donald sold his Chevrolet-Mazda Dealership in October of 1998. He has served diligently in the automotive business as well. He was a member of the General Motors President’s Advisory Council, Member of the National Chevrolet Dealer Council, President of the Western Kansas Chevrolet Dealer Association, Member of the Board of the Chevy Team of Kansas, Member of the General Motors Auction Planning Committee, President of the Kansas Automobile Dealers Association, Chairman of the Kansas Automobile Dealers Workman Compensation Fund. Mr. Mac Donald is the former NADA Director from the State of Kansas. As a NADA Director, he was a Chairman of the Regulatory Affairs Committee as well as a member of the Membership Committee. He served on the Small Dealer Task Force as well as the Information Technology Task Force. Mr. Mac Donald was the first Chairman of the new NADA Information Technology Committee. Mr. Mac Donald was the one of the author’s on the NADA Management Education Guides “Resolving the Year 2000 Problem” and “Contingency Planning for the Year 2000 Problem”. Mr. Mac Donald’s notable awards have been: “The Blue Chip Enterprise Award” Recipient (Nation’s Business and US Chamber), “The Employer of the Year” for the hiring of the handicapped (State of Kansas), Paul Harris Fellowship (Rotary International), “Optimist of the Year Award” (Two Time Recipient, Hays Optimist Club), TIME Magazine Quality Dealer Finalist (NADA and TIME Magazine). In recent years, Mr. Mac Donald has consulted with such companies as EDS, NADA, Automotive News, Ward Business Magazine, as well as numerous Dealer’s and Dealerships through out USA and Canada. Mr. Mac Donald has also provided workshops though out the country for many State Associations, the Canadian Automobile Dealers Association and NADA. Mr. Mac Donald was named as one of the top ten workshop speakers at the last several NADA National Conventions. In 1999, Mr. Mac Donald, formed a consulting group TriMac Automotive Advisory Group to assist Dealers with their day-to-day operational issues. TriMac specializes in Technology issues as well as assisting Dealers in obtaining or disposing of Dealerships. In December of 2001, Paul, along with relatives Michael and Louise Mac Donald, purchased the assets of Bountiful Mazda in Bountiful, Utah from the Ford Auto Collection. Along with his duties as a consultant, Mr. MacDonald is an active member of the Bountiful Mazda Management Team. |
